Recreational Paths in Bridgend
Check out some of our reasons to walk
A series of leaflets have been developed showcasing different aspects of the diverse landscape the County Borough has to offer.
The Ogwr Ridgeway Walk is a designated long-distance trail running through the County Borough. Forming a link in the South Wales Ridgeway Walk, the route is approximately 15 miles (24km) and runs through the centre of the County Borough from Mynydd Margam to Mynydd y Gaer.
Linking nine Communities within the Borough and the Vale of Glamorgan is the Bridgend Circular Walk. This walk has been developed in partnership with the Ramblers Association, Countryside Council for Wales, and the Vale of Glamorgan County Borough Council. This is a large walk totalling a distance of approximately 20 miles (32km) and has been split into three more manageable sections.
In partnership with some Town and Community Councils and the Countryside Council for Wales, the Council has also developed a series of smaller circular walks leaflets to encourage local residents and visitors alike to access and enjoy the countryside, and parts of our important heritage.
